Malaysia has the most students in English-medium international schools in the country compared to neighbouring countries, a study revealed.<\/p>\n
According to the study by ISC Research, a firm that analyses the international school market, English-medium international schools have the highest number of local students, outnumbering those from Thailand or Singapore, despite only having the third most number of such schools in the region.<\/p>\n
Malaysia Leads SEA In Number Of Students In English-medium International Schools<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cMalaysia has 71,589 students enrolled in various international schools in the country,\u201d it said in a statement, referring to data up until the first quarter of 2017.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is the highest in the region, followed by Thailand with 64,928 students and Singapore with 63,789.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Malaysia only has 170 English-medium international schools, after Indonesia (190) and Thailand (181).<\/p>\n Enrolment in international schools has risen by 33.9% in the last four years, said ISC.<\/p>\n In December last year, a global poll revealed that that international school fees in Malaysia are the eighth most expensive in the world<\/a> for expatriates.<\/p>\n
