{"id":28779,"date":"2017-03-17T23:07:09","date_gmt":"2017-03-17T15:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/?p=28779"},"modified":"2017-03-17T23:07:09","modified_gmt":"2017-03-17T15:07:09","slug":"vehicle-sales-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/vehicle-sales-up","title":{"rendered":"MAA: Vehicle Sales Up 12.1%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vehicles sales rose 12.1% in February 2017 from a year ago to 42,455 units from 37,874 units, according to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).<\/p>\n<p>MAA added that of the 42,455 units sold in February, 38,881 units were passenger vehicles and the remainder, commercial vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Production in February was also up 22.7% or 43,127 units from 35,130 units a year ago in line with the recovery in the market and broader economy.<\/p>\n<p>Just last October, it was reported that Malaysia\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/asia.nikkei.com\/Business\/AC\/Malaysia-s-vehicles-sales-remain-weak-in-October\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">vehicle sales declined<\/a> again after a big slump in July amid persistent tepid consumer sentiment and a weak ringgit.
