{"id":29626,"date":"2017-05-19T15:51:50","date_gmt":"2017-05-19T07:51:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/?p=29626"},"modified":"2017-05-19T15:52:06","modified_gmt":"2017-05-19T07:52:06","slug":"malaysian-economy-grew-5-6-q1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/malaysian-economy-grew-5-6-q1","title":{"rendered":"Malaysian Economy Grew 5.6% In Q1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Malaysia economy grew by 5.6% in the first quarter of 2017, revealed Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during a media briefing, BNM\u00a0Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim said growth was driven by strong consumption and investment.<\/p>\n<p>Higher growth in the first three months were recorded in services (5.8%), manufacturing (5.6%), mining (1.6%), agriculture (8.3%) and construction (6.5%).<\/p>\n<p>Muhammad said headline inflation, which averaged 4.3%, was expected to decrease from the second quarter onwards.
