Malaysia is on track to be a high-income economy, said Datuk Seri Najib Razak.<\/p>\n
Citing economic reforms, the prime minister said the country continued to prosper due to the programmes the government had put in place.<\/p>\n
\u201cBetween 2009 and 2016, Gross National Income (GNI) has increased by nearly 50%, and GNI per capita using the Altas method increased to US$9,850.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on the World Bank’s latest high-income threshold of US$12,235, we have narrowed the gap towards the high income target from 33% to 19%,\u201d he said during his keynote address at the 13th Invest Malaysia Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n
