2017 Salary Report<\/a><\/em>, which outlines the roles and industries that pay the highest according to their job level. The report is divided into entry level, junior executive, senior executive, manager and senior manager.<\/p>\nWe\u2019ve analysed the findings in the report, which are based on jobs advertisement that is advertised on JobStreet.com Malaysia in 2015-2016, and we\u2019ve listed the top three highest paying jobs for each level.<\/p>\n[sc:sample_banner]\n
As the results are based on actual job advertisement, the highest salary for a manager was found to be lower than a senior executive, due to the different industries and roles.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s best to look at the list in its totality, because a job that starts off high in salary may not be so when you climb up the career ladder. For example, the second best-paying entry level job is in hotel and restaurant industry. However, overall, the industry is listed as the worst-paying industry based on the report.<\/p>\n
Salary also depends on the location of the position. Generally, salary tends to be higher in the central region, such as Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. However, certain positions can get higher pay in other regions such as engineering in the semiconductor\/wafer fabrication industry in East Malaysia, which rakes in RM27,500 a month on average in senior managerial role.<\/p>\n
