Subromaniam, the Finance Ministry has received the latest amendments to the act and are expected to be tabled in the next Dewan Rakyat sitting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need a modern, comprehensive and progressive taxation system to the tax revenue from the digital economy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>At writing time, Malaysians do not have to pay GST when they purchase products from e-commerce sites.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly, iflix <a href=\"http:\/\/www.themalaymailonline.com\/malaysia\/article\/iflix-says-already-gst-compliant#qM9byfoQofvgsgQl.97\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">issued a statement<\/a> saying the streaming service was already subject to the GST.<\/p>\n<p>\u201ciflix already charges, reports and pays Malaysian GST for all services and has been GST compliant since we first made our service available to consumers throughout Malaysia,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/news\/nation\/2017\/10\/04\/gst-likely-for-netflix-and-iflix-soon-customs-sends-in-proposal-to-tax-online-entertainment-streamin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">[Source]<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So much for &#8220;just Netflix and chill&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":29,"featured_media":21174,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[216,215],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-31568","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-updates","category-tax"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>GST Likely For Netflix &amp;
