Asia’s first Lego theme park might be up for sale, according to multiple sources.<\/p>\n
Malaysian sovereign wealth fund Khazanah is considering selling Legoland Malaysia Resort. The news emerged after Khazanah’s investment report surfaced and appeared to be weak.<\/p>\n
Interested buyers could acquire the theme park for RM1 billion (US$245 million) if the owners decide to go through with the plan to sell the place.<\/p>\n
The theme park is located in Johor and operated by Merlin Entertainment. It houses more than 15,000 Lego models<\/a> made from over 60 million bricks. Some of its notable attractions are the first indoor LEGO\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Miniland, a 4D interactive attraction NINJAGO\u00a0The Ride; and an all-encompassing experience living as Ninjas with the NINJAGO Themed Room.<\/p>\n However, in a press conference, Khazanah’s managing director Shahril Ridza Ridzuan told reporters that they have not received any offers for Legoland yet.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are not in talks with anyone at this point of time,\u201d Bernama quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n
