Such a situation is becoming more commonplace for many Malaysians today.<\/p>\n
The Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) has been conducting education and outreach initiatives under the banner of \u201cInvestSmart\u201d to address this growing threat of investment scams.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, they organised a ScamBuster Walk Hunt aimed at raising awareness amongst Malaysians on illegal investment schemes.<\/p>\n
Participants trekked through a 4km trail for clues and riddles in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle before applying their investing knowledge at the InvestSmart\u00ae Fest, which was held in Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from 18-20 October 2019.<\/p>\n
The three-day event was aimed at equipping investors with the fundamentals in making sound investment decisions.<\/p>\n
The SC hopes the initiative would open up public\u2019s awareness on the fundamentals of investment and equip investors with knowledge that will enable to protect themselves against investment scams or illegal investment schemes.<\/p>\n
