Malaysians can now travel abroad as our borders have reopened for travellers and visitors alike. If you are fully vaccinated and have valid travel documents, you can freely enter or leave the country, provided you\u2019ve done your required polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing two days before leaving Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>So, where exactly can you go for a quick getaway outside the country? Well, we\u2019ve compiled a list of countries that are quarantine-free destinations that you can go to with very little worries (or preparation!).<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Thailand\"><\/span><strong>Thailand<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A popular destination for travellers, Thailand\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mot.gov.my\/en\/Announcement\/VTL%20Malaysia-Thailand%20(12%20Mar%202022).pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL)<\/a> scheme means that Malaysian travellers can visit the country without quarantine. As of 15 March 2022, there are at least six daily flights to Bangkok and four daily flights to Phuket.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Their latest covid-19 situation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Percent of population fully vaccinated: 72.5%<\/li>\n<li>Trend of cases in the past seven days: Downward with 74% of cases vs peak of their surge.<\/li>\n<li>194 infections per 100K people reported in the last seven days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Source: <u><a href=\"https:\/\/graphics.reuters.com\/world-coronavirus-tracker-and-maps\/countries-and-territories\/thailand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/graphics.reuters.com\/world-coronavirus-tracker-and-maps\/countries-and-territories\/thailand\/<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vaccination card (must be fully vaccinated)<\/li>\n<li>PCR test upon arrival.<\/li>\n<li>One night hotel stay at an approved facility.<\/li>\n<li>A Thailand Pass which you can secure through this portal: <a href=\"https:\/\/tp.consular.go.th\/\">https:\/\/tp.consular.go.th\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Negative RT-PCR test (taken at least 72 hours prior to flight)<\/li>\n<li>Purchase a mandatory travel insurance with a minimum coverage of RM100,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Maldives\"><\/span><strong>Maldives<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Miss the beautiful shores of Maldives? The country has opened its door for vaccinated travellers so if you\u2019re looking for that island getaway, you can finally plan your trip to one of the most luxurious beaches on this list.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Their latest covid-19 situation as of writing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Percent of population fully vaccinated: 7%<\/li>\n<li>Trend of cases in the past seven days: Downward with 3% of cases vs peak of their surge.<\/li>\n<li>106 infections per 100K people reported in the last seven days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/graphics.reuters.com\/world-coronavirus-tracker-and-maps\/countries-and-territories\/maldives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/graphics.reuters.com\/world-coronavirus-tracker-and-maps\/countries-and-territories\/maldives\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Restrictions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the Public Health Emergency has been revoked on 13 March 2022, travellers are still restricted from certain islands that are experiencing outbreaks. For the full list of islands that are off-limits, you can check <a href=\"https:\/\/covid19.health.gov.mv\/islands-under-monitoring\/?c=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As of 5 March 2022, travellers are no longer required to present a<a href=\"https:\/\/visitmaldives.s3.amazonaws.com\/4w8KJzoK\/fze8kxkm.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> PCR negative test result<\/a> provided that they are fully vaccinated.<\/li>\n<li>If you are not vaccinated, you will still need to provide a negative PCR test (taken at least 96 hours prior to flight)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Indonesia\"><\/span><strong>Indonesia<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Indonesia initially opened its borders for tourists only for Bali, but as of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indonesia.travel\/gb\/en\/news\/new-international-travel-regulations-to-enter-indonesia-as-of-29-november-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">6 April 2022<\/a>, they\u2019ve expanded quarantine-free travel to other cities including Jakarta, Medan, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta. As of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moh.gov.sg\/news-highlights\/details\/implementation-of-vaccinated-travel-framework#:~:text=We%20had%20earlier%20announced%20that,enter%20Singapore%20under%20the%20Framework.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 April 2022<\/a>, Singapore has fully opened its borders to vaccinated Malaysians with a new Vaccinated Travel Framework (VTF) that eases up on restrictions and no daily arrival quotas!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Their latest covid-19 situation as of writing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Percent of the population fully vaccinated: 87.5%<\/li>\n<li>The trend of cases in the past seven days: Downward with only 17% of cases vs peak of their surge.<\/li>\n<li>391 infections per 100K people reported in the last seven days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/graphics.reuters.com\/world-coronavirus-tracker-and-maps\/countries-and-territories\/singapore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/graphics.reuters.com\/world-coronavirus-tracker-and-maps\/countries-and-territories\/singapore\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fully vaccinated status (boosters are not required).
