If you are a frequent user of the app, this feature will make it easier to pay your bills. Earlier this week, Bank Rakyat announced a new strategic partnership with Touch ‘n Go, which will allow in-app bills payment using JomPAY.

Thanks to this partnership, more than 20 million Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s users can make bill payments using JomPAY through the Touch ‘n Go eWallet app, starting from the 19th of May 2023.

This is a monumental move as JomPAY is the nation’s retail digital payments infrastructure provider in this country, and this move will allow users to make bill payments to over 10,000 billers through JomPAY.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Touch ‘n Go eWallet, as part of the Bank’s digitalisation agenda outlined in its five-year strategic plan, Bank Rakyat 2025 (BR25). This tie-up marks the continuation of Bank Rakyat’s digital transformation journey and ambition to reach new customer segments using e-wallet platforms.

More importantly, it reinforces our commitment to bringing new and innovative products to market in this increasingly digital world,” said Dr. Mohammad Hanis Osman, Chief Executive Officer of Bank Rakyat in a statement.

In the statement, Dr. Mohammad Hanis Osman also placed an emphasis on overall customer satisfaction, which has long been an important aspect of their BR25 strategic plan.

“We are creating partnerships that are aimed to further enhance bill payment experience and drive the country’s cashless society and financial inclusion agenda by extending financial services to the unbanked and underserved communities,” continued Dr. Mohammad Hanis Osman.

This strategic partnership between Bank Rakyat and Touch ‘n Go is just another one to add to the long line of bank-fintech partnerships, showing that the fintech movement in Malaysia is here to stay.
