{"id":56947,"date":"2024-05-08T17:30:48","date_gmt":"2024-05-08T09:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/?p=56947"},"modified":"2024-05-10T18:09:20","modified_gmt":"2024-05-10T10:09:20","slug":"bank-cards-that-support-apple-pay-google-pay-and-samsung-pay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/bank-cards-that-support-apple-pay-google-pay-and-samsung-pay","title":{"rendered":"[Updated] Bank Cards That Support Apple Pay, Google Pay, And Samsung Pay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cashless payments have become more acceptable with many Malaysians preferring to use contactless payments for their day-to-day spending.<\/p>\n<p>While there are a ton of ways that you can do contactless payments, such as using your credit card, you can now also use your smartphone or smartwatch to make payments as well.<\/p>\n<p>Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay have all officially launched their services in Malaysia, however, not all banks support them yet. So, if you\u2019re thinking of going fully smart pay, here\u2019s a list of banks that support them currently.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Apple-Pay\"><\/span>Apple Pay<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>iPhone and Apple Watch users can now officially use <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-my\/HT206638\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener dofollow\">Apple Pay in Malaysia<\/a>. However, since they are relatively new in Malaysia, there are not a lot of banks that support them.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, there are only 4 banks which you can use Apple Pay with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maybank<\/li>\n<li>Ambank<\/li>\n<li>Standard Chartered<\/li>\n<li>HSBC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Note: You can also use Apple Pay on Wise (formerly TransferWise) although they are a multi-currency money transfer service provider and not a bank.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One thing to note is that only Maybank supports debit and credit cards for Apple Pay. Ambank, Standard Chartered, and HSBC only support Visa and Mastercard credit cards.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Google-Pay\"><\/span>Google Pay<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Just like Apple Pay, Google Pay has only recently launched in Malaysia on November 2022. And as you can expect, not a lot of banks support the service yet.<\/p>\n<p>There are now <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/wallet\/answer\/12059326?hl=en&amp;co=GENIE.CountryCode%3DMY&amp;sjid=14086814344946260697-AP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener dofollow\">8 banks that support Google Pay<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AmBank<\/li>\n<li>Bank Muamalat<\/li>\n<li>CIMB<\/li>\n<li>Hong Leong Bank<\/li>\n<li>HSBC<\/li>\n<li>Public Bank<\/li>\n<li>Standard Chartered<\/li>\n<li>Maybank<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Note: Similar to Apple Pay, you can also use Google Pay on Wise (only for Visa Prepaid).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>However not all bank cards can be used on Google Pay. CIMB only allows Mastercard credit cards while HSBC and Hong Leong Bank work for all cards. As for Public Bank, the Google Wallet is available on PB Visa Infinite Credit Card and PB World Mastercard Credit Card.<\/p>\n<p>The latest addition to this list is Maybank. Currently, 40 Maybank credit and debit cards support Google Pay. For the full list, you can refer to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maybank2u.com.my\/iwov-resources\/pdf\/personal\/digital_banking\/google-pay-compatible-cards.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener dofollow\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Samsung-Pay\"><\/span>Samsung Pay<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Samsung Pay has been around the longest in Malaysia with the service launching back in 2017. Because of that, they have more banks supporting Samsung Pay compared to Apple or Google.<\/p>\n<p>While it doesn\u2019t have all local bank support, it does have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samsung.com\/my\/samsung-pay\/banking-merchant-partners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener dofollow\">7 banks providing payments services using Samsung Pay<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CIMB<\/li>\n<li>Hong Leong Bank<\/li>\n<li>HSBC<\/li>\n<li>Maybank<\/li>\n<li>Public Bank<\/li>\n<li>RHB Bank<\/li>\n<li>Standard Chartered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And just like Apple Pay and Google Pay, the service is limited to certain types of cards. RHB Bank, Hong Leong Bank, and Maybank support all credit and debit cards while Public Bank support all cards except Public Bank RCB Elite or RCB Gold debit cards, Lifestyle Mastercard debit cards, and Lifestyle UnionPay debit cards.<\/p>\n<p>Standard Chartered and HSBC bank only support credit cards while with CIMB you can use credit and prepaid cards.<\/p>\n<div class=\"block\"><div><\/p>\n<p><strong>Need a credit card that fits your need?
