International Reserves At USD112.9 Billion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been recently revealed that the international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia amounted to USD112.9 billion as at 31 July 2023. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means that the reserves position is sufficient to support about 5.1 months of imports of goods and services, according to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bnm.gov.my\/-\/bnm-statement-of-assets-liabilities-31-july-2023?inheritRedirect=true&amp;redirect=%2F-%2Finternational-reserves-of-bank-negara-malaysia-as-at-31-july-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BNM Statement of Assets &amp; Liabilities (31 July 2023)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/static.imoney.my\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/07165105\/BNM-intl-reserves-31-July-2023.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is also 1.1 times the total short-term external debt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means that the international reserves have also recovered slightly from last month\u2019s USD99.2 billion, which marked the first time that foreign currency reserves have dipped below US$100.0 billion since November 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also marks a break in a downward trend which had been going on since 31 March 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International reserves
