The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has recorded RM33.19 billion in investment income for the first half of the year, ending in June 2023 (1H 2023). This is a noticeable increase of RM9.44 billion compared to the same period last year.<\/span><\/p>\n Out of the RM33.19 billion total investment income, EPF has generated RM4.79 billion from mark-to-market (MTM) gains of securities that have not been realised. EPF said that the MTM gains were credited to the fluctuations in the fluctuations in foreign exchange rate.<\/span><\/p>\n EPF chief executive officer Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said the performance of the global equity markets in the 1H 2023 had been positive. <\/span><\/p>\n This was led by a run-up in the developed markets.
