However, it was also mentioned that global growth continues to be weighed down by persistently elevated core inflation and higher interest rates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other highlights include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the second quarter of the year, growth of the Malaysian economy was affected by slower external demand and a decline in commodity production.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tourist arrivals and spending are expected to improve further.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Investment activity would be supported by continued progress of multi-year infrastructure projects, and implementation of catalytic initiatives under the recently announced national master plans.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Domestic financial conditions also remain conducive to financial intermediation amid sustained credit growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span
