This system goes into effect on 20 September 2023. This news comes after the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/open-toll-besraya-npe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener dofollow noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">extensive testing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that took place over the past month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The highways involved include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Expressway (Akleh)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sungai Besi Expressway (Besraya)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The New Pantai Expressway (NPE)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Skim Penyuraian Trafik Kuala Lumpur Barat (SPRINT)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SMART Tunnel<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"12-highways-agreed-to-implement-Penang-Bridge-to-implement-year-end\"><\/span>12 highways agreed to implement; Penang Bridge to implement year end<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi had mentioned that the implementation of the SPT would provide new alternatives to existing toll payment methods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Our objective is to provide payment options for users since previously there were only one or two systems; sometimes their (Touch&#8217;N Go) card(s) balance is not sufficient (for toll payment). Road users now have another option, namely the SPT, this is also the first step towards implementing the multi-lane free flow (MLFF) system in the future,\u201d said Datuk Alexander after officiating the Implementation of the SPT at the Loke Yew Toll Plaza on Besraya, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bernama.com\/en\/general\/news.php?id=2229917\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bernama<\/a> reports.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also mentioned that thus far, a total of 12 highways have agreed to implement the SPT. However, the 12th highway, that being the Penang Bridge (JPP), will delay implementation in order to allow the concessionaire to conduct further study on it. As such, the JPP will only begin SPT service at the end of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Steps-to-ensure-successful-open-payment-system-usage\"><\/span>Steps to ensure successful open payment system usage<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Works Ministry had also released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=716279037204974&amp;set=pcb.716279383871606\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">user guide<\/a> for those planning to use the open payment system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Activite contactless payment on your credit\/debit card<\/li>\n<li>Use the correct toll lane with the MyDebit, Visa or Mastercard logo<\/li>\n<li>Ensure there is enough credit or funds available for debiting before paying the toll<\/li>\n<li>If the transaction can&#8217;t go through, to try using Touch &#8216;n Go or another available card<\/li>\n<li>Scan the card at the correct open payment system terminal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the meantime, there will be ongoing discussions on expanding the implementation of the SPT system to other highways throughout the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The implementation of the SPT system is part of the MYjalan campaign initiative undertaken by the Works Ministry, the Malaysian Highway Authority and highway concession companies to provide a greater level of convenience to road users.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Drivers can now
