{"id":64547,"date":"2024-07-31T12:38:21","date_gmt":"2024-07-31T04:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/?p=64547"},"modified":"2024-07-31T12:38:21","modified_gmt":"2024-07-31T04:38:21","slug":"prebudget-2025-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.imoney.my\/articles\/prebudget-2025-budget","title":{"rendered":"MOF Issues Pre-Budget Statement, Will Table Budget 2025 On Oct 18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has issued its annual pre-budget statement (PBS).<\/p>\n<p>Every year, this is done several months ahead of the tabling of the government&#8217;s annual budget for the next year.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Focus-on-3-short-term-priorities\"><\/span>Focus on 3 short term priorities<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>MOF hopes the PBS will promote public discourse and feedback from stakeholders to guide inputs and proposals for the budget.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Government welcomes suggestions from the rakyat and businesses for Budget 2025, particularly proposals to accelerate the implementation of Ekonomi MADANI and to build on the current positive growth momentum,\u201d said Minister of Finance II, YB Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan at the Pre-Budget 2025 Dialogue with civil servants yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the government has focused on three short-term priorities as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To raise the ceiling (in terms of restructuring the economy towards greater competitiveness and higher value-added activities);<\/li>\n<li>To raise the floor (in terms of improving quality of life and inclusiveness of opportunities); and<\/li>\n<li>To strengthen governance and public delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The MOF statement highlighted that these priorities are also aligned to realising the goals of Ekonomi MADANI.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Belanjawan-2025-portal-open-for-public-feedback\"><\/span>Belanjawan 2025 portal open for public feedback<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/belanjawan.mof.gov.my\/en\/proposal2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-64549 size-medium alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/static.imoney.my\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/31123405\/Budget-2025-proposal-300x157.jpg\" alt=\"prebudget public consultation\" width=\"300\" height=\"157\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.imoney.my\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/31123405\/Budget-2025-proposal-300x157.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.imoney.my\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/31123405\/Budget-2025-proposal-800x419.jpg 800w, https:\/\/static.imoney.my\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/31123405\/Budget-2025-proposal-768x402.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.imoney.my\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/31123405\/Budget-2025-proposal.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The national budget formulation process has already started in July. The session was chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, YAB Dato\u2019 Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim.<\/p>\n<p>A series of nationwide consultations will follow in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the public can also submit their feedback and proposals to the Belanjawan 2025 portal at
